Oscillate, invert, modulate

Our Eurorack modular synth modules allow users to create their own modular synth system while learning about circuit design.

We currently have an LFO, VCA and a LVLS module available as either full DIY kits or a PCB & panel option. Our next few modules will be available in autumn 2016.
The modules are compatible with the Eurorack format, originally pioneered by Dieter Doepfer, and can be used in any Eurorack system following the format guidelines in terms of cases and power supplies.

Maker Eurorack modules are professionally designed in-house using a number of design techniques that have been formulated with the DIY and electronics beginner in mind, including for example adapted component footprints, clearly labelled PCB silkscreens, easy to read schematics and detailed assembly guides.

what is a modular synthesiser?

The concept of modular synthesis is that the synthesiser system is built with individual modules, which perform different functions and are interchangeable. This allows new modules to be added to a system of any size with ease, as well as allowing for the customization and modification of the instrument.

MOdular renaissance

The past number of years have seen a resurgence in modular synthesis due to a number of factors. Equipment that was once deemed only the preserve of a handful of famous musicians in the 1970s and 1980s is now available with a wide range of design philosophies, sound pallets and routing options, and in more practical and affordable formats than ever before.

Assembly guides

Our assembly guides are designed to clearly outline the build process while providing jargon-free information on how each element of the circuit works. The assembly guides include the module technical specifications, a detailed step-by-step build guide with pictures and illustrations, and circuit schematics with a description of how the electronic circuits work. You can also download the Bills of Materials (BOM) below.

workshops

If you are keen to begin building your own modules, but feel you don't have the skills, come along to one of our open workshops where you will learn to solder, build a module of your choice and have the circuit explained to you in detail.
