britesprite workshop
In this workshops students are tasked to create the circuit for a RGB LED "BriteSprite" light. The colour of the light can be controlled by varying the current though three potentiometers (one for each of the three components of the LED; Red, Green & Blue).
Students learn about circuits, current, voltage and resistance, colour mixing of light and are tested on Ohm's law requiring mathematics to calculate the current required for various colours. Workbook

1String electric guitar
In this workshop students get the opportunity to create a one string electric guitar from scratch.
This includes winding an electromagnetic pickup, soldering the pickup to a output jack and construction of the physical guitar. Students are then tasked to calculate where the frets should be using a number of different mathematical models. It is also an opportunity for the students to learn about the maths of musical scales, frequency and wavelength. Workbook
